If you have a tooth that’s broken or damaged by decay, it can often be fixed with a filling, root canal, or crown.
Occasionally, there is too much damage for one of these procedures, and you must have the tooth extracted. Or, you may need many teeth removed in preparation for dentures or implants.
It’s always best to save your teeth whenever possible. But under the following circumstances, it may be necessary to remove them:
Prior to scheduling your procedure, Dr. Green will perform a complete oral exam and take x-rays.
After the exam, he will prepare your treatment plan, taking into consideration your age and health, the presence of infection, and the effect the extraction may have on other areas, such as your sinuses, nerves, and other teeth.
Dr. Green will also discuss dental anesthesia options with you during your consultation. For your comfort, he offers removal of multiple teeth and preprosthetic surgery under general anesthesia.
Single tooth extractions can be completed during a single surgical visit. If you need multiple teeth removed, it may take several visits to complete your treatment plan.
